Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)

The 491 visa is a points-tested, 5-year temporary visa for skilled workers nominated by a state/territory or sponsored by a family member in a regional area. It leads to PR via the Subclass 191.

You Are Eligible If You Are

  • A skilled worker with an occupation on the regional demand list
  • Willing to live and work in a designated regional area of Australia
  • Nominated by a state/territory government or sponsored by an eligible relative living regionally
  • Assessed as skilled by the relevant assessing authority for your profession
  • Scoring at least 65 points on the skilled migration points test
  • Invited to apply through SkillSelect after submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI)
  • Meeting the health and character requirements of the Australian government
